Happy Birthday ADY & Getting ready for ScrapPINK

Happy Birthday ADY!!!!
Today is my wonderful friends' birthday. I wish her tons of happiness as she is truly one very special lady. She is one of my dearest friends and has a heart of gold. She understands me and loves me regardless of my many faults. She supports my dreams and helps me like a sister. She calls me on things and outright tells me I'm wrong when I am. She tells me the truth...even when I don't want to hear it. She is honest and brutally funny. She brings joy not only to me but my children as well. She is greatly loved. I am blessed and honored to call her my friend.
FELIZ DIA MI AMIGA!!!!

Hello pueblo....GET READY....LONG POST....

I know, I know. It's super hard to keep this blog going on a daily basis, when I am preparing for so many wonderful events. I think i am going to have to create the post and simply pre-date them...hmm..that's a thought.

I am proud to announce that: We are a SCRAPPINK event holder!!!! WHOO HOOO! For those of you who are not aware of what SCRAPPINK is: It's a scrapbooking event that is Nationally celebrated all over the world. Scrapbooks Etc. is the official organizer. Local Scrapbook Stores and Kit Club vendors host these crops and collect monies for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The wonderful thing about this event is THAT ALL MONIES COLLECTED goes directly to the foundation. GOT TO LOVE THAT!!!!

I am honored that SDUI will be able to participate in such a special event. It really humbles me to see the response that many of you have given me, and your willingness to participate in such a wonderful event. I have sent out emails and just want to let you know, that this event is going to be the largest one I hold this year. Not necessarily in attendants but by my gifting to the Scrap Pink Participants and the collections of monies for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

I will be hosting this crop on September 26 - 27, 2008. Seating is limited so make sure you reserve your seats by emailing me immediately @ scrapbookdui@aol.com
I have a full event scheduled for the participants and will be gifting FABULOUS gifts and prizes. Already have some of these Delicious goodies on hand and my anticipation level is out of control.
The following is from the Susan G. Komen Foundation website...(I simply copied as they express it so eloquently)
About Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the US and is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women age 40-59. It is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death among women.
Breast cancer accounts for one of every three cancer diagnoses in women. Nearly 200,000 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year and about 40,000 women will die from breast cancer this year. An additional 60,000 new cases of in situ breast cancer are expected to occur in women this year.
There are over two million breast cancer survivors alive today in the U.S. and the number of deaths due to breast cancer seems to be declining. A combination of earlier detection and more effective treatment is thought to be responsible for these declining rates.
ABOUT SUSAN G. KOMEN
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.
In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. With the goal of winning this fight, Komen has committed to invest another $2 billion dollars over the next decade with the goal of achieving its ultimate vision of a world without breast cancer. For more information, please visit Komen.org
I have chosen to participate in this event at it is truly an amazing cause and will help us or someone we know at some point in time in our lives.
Let's work together and combine our passion of scrap booking with helping eradicate this horrible disease.
Thanking you all in advance for your support.
Lots of hugs.........

Happy morning to you all....

This weekend was a full one and honestly just a low key one. I worked on Saturday and taught my LAST "mother class" with the noteworthy line. It took us forever to finish it...but we made it to the finish line...(Girls I am getting your envelopes ready...so I will be mailing them to you by Wednesday).
Anyhoo, I went to church yesterday and the service was just amazing. The praise & worship was so beautiful & the message was right on the money! Then I literally bummed with the kids and my man ... ALL DAY! had a good day.
So here's what I have going on.

1. I am going to be hosting various guest designers in the month of August. So if you are interested, please send me a link to your work, and I will be checking you out!!!

2. I am beginning a fun session and on every Wednesday I will be interviewing some fun people on all kinds of different segments. The first one will be...what are your 3 favorite tools. So stay tuned for this. It's funny...these girls are not only talented, smart but some of them are going to crack you up!!!! HE, hee, hee.

3. I am hosting my SCRAP BOOKING YARD sale and 50% off everything in the pink store, this coming Saturday. If you need directions how to get here, email me @ scrapbookdui@aol.com.

4. Details for the annual retreat for next year are shaping up and will be posted probably by next week.

5. Scrap Pink is almost here...looks like we are having a full house again. LOVE THIS EVENT!!!

6. The Annual album class is coming up again in the next several weeks. I only have 10 kits...so this is a first come first serve class!!!! I really ONLY have 10 kits available.

More stuff coming down the pike but this is it for today, I have to call Dayami...as the telephone line keeps going down and this is the third time she calls me back in the middle of our stories...he,hee! LOL

Lots of hugs peeps and have a fantastic MONDAY!!!!

PS: SNEAK PEEK AT THE KITS FOR AUGUST TOMORROW!!!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

This is my dad. He is the man who I look most up to. Today we celebrate his birthday, and I am one lucky girl to have him live so close to me and my family. I know my dad is no where near perfect, but my goodness, does this man have some perfect qualities. My dad has been married to my mom for 42 years. He is a loyal and faithful husband. He has ALWAYS been a provider. Dad has not only provided financially for his family but has provided spiritual and emotional guidance to all our lives. He and my mom raised 5 kids. We turned out pretty well...considering we all love God with all our hearts, pay our taxes, strive to keep our family close, and give back to our communities. Yup....GOD, FAMILY & COUNTRY....that's dad for you.

I am my fathers' daughter. I am the one who looks the most like him. Those CUEVAS' genes are just not being denied here.

Dad brings us laughter, and joy....and boy can he tell a story....He's interesting, can argue a point to death, and will absolutely stand by what he believes. Dad believes in honor, whether it's your word, your self worth, or simply how you live your life. He expects every one of his kids to be the best they can be and to strive to be better ourselves and to help those less fortunate. Dad forgives too quickly (in my opinion), but he sure does live happier than most men I know. He turns the other cheek way too often (in my opinion), but he is more content than most men I know. He adores his family almost to a fault (in my opinion), but then again he is loved and cherished not only by his children but by his extended family and friends. He is a simple man, with simple taste.
He is a man who knows how to love, how to demonstrate it, and how to live it. He has always lived his life by example. Even when he makes mistakes, my father has always been man enough to admit when he has been wrong and apologize. That in itself describes the measure of this man.
Today my family and I celebrate Dad's birthday.
This is my father's legacy.
Happy birthday Papi....you are doing an amazing job living life.

Great weekend!

Wow, I had such a great time with family and friends this past weekend. We should really do this more often! LOL. We had cook outs, fireworks displays, family dinners, Philadelphian's visiting, Alabamians visiting...NICE! It was just great spending time with family. Believe it or not...I did not touch this computer until last night. That was nice too...lol.
Here are some great LO from July's kit from one of my favorite designers, Ms. Ady.

I am ready for the August kits. My team and I had discussed something different for the August Kits back in May....so keep an eye out! LOL
FYI.........Next years annual weekend getaway will be held on September 11-13, 2009. Mark those calendars!!! More details to follow real soon.
Hope you all have a great day.
