What a fabulous weekend.... :)

Celebrated my birthday with some friends....I think this is my 5th celebration...will recap later. What fun was to be had with some of my favorite women.

I did this layout a couple of weeks ago. Those flowers are from Prima...they are so ugly that I love them...lol....
Now....my let me recap my B-day celebration....

This is Noemi. She is my oldest friend...in friend years....LOL...

My wonderful buddy got up early...and I do mean early and went to the cheese cake factory to get me my hearts desire.....RED VELVET CHEESE CAKE......ok ladies, if you have never had this....you have GOT TO TRY IT. Hay DIOS MIO!!! Talk about heaven...
I got MULA!!!!!! I'll share what I got with it later. Noemi and I met each other when we were in our teens. We have built a great deal of memories together including weddings, birthdays, marriages, child birth, and a lot more along this journey we walk. Noemi is one of the smartest women I know...I mean SMART...like freakin' woman how did you understand that so quickly? I love to see how her mind works because honestly, she doesn't get it...how people don't get stuff....my buddy doesn't realize that not everyone is as smart as she is....LOL!!! The beauty of it is that She really doesn't get that SHE is really THAT smart!!!! She is truly my most faithful friend and honestly my family considers her one of my sisters. Her little sister is my sis (Ely) best friend...funny how that has worked out. God has truly blessed me with this girl. I love her with all my heart. She is humble and has the most giving spirit that you will ever encounter. I am so blessed to call her friend.
My buddy Maritza...she is such a wonderful person. I love this lady. She is one of the sweetest people I know. She is simply a fabulous lady.
Look at the amazing pillow she made me....PINK and black...a woman after my own heart!!!!! Gotta tell you girls...I am one lucky chick.
Shenny, Shenny, Shenny....if you ever want to meet a lady who will have you in stitches ALL DAY...call my friend Shenny. She is truly one of the funniest ladies you will ever meet. She has a heart of gold and she makes me happy. I love this girl!!! She is also the psycho that stalks Ricky Martin.....I'm not kidding...She and HE are tight....LOL
By the way, Shenny got the NURSE OF THE YEAR AWARD!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations my friend!!!! I am so proud of you!!! WHOO HOOO!!!!
My buddy Michelle. She is one of my favorites. I admire this lady so much. She is such a good wife, mom and daughter. She is truly an amazing woman and her amazing spirit touches my soul. Michelle is one of those friends that I feel I can call and we can talk about anything. Although we do not hang out a lot, those moments we do share are very special to me. She is the fastest scrapbooker I know....LOL... and she makes me smile with her no nonsense attitude. Michelle is too busy to put up with silly stuff....life is too precious to waste on things that simply don't matter. I admire that she is simply a go getter, a planner and a fantastic friend.
These are my sisters Bethsy and Margie. These are truly two of my favorite women. They share the same parents as I do and that is a blessing in itself. I admire both my sisters and they are truly Godly women. They have such great sense of humours and actually make my life a lot brighter. Bethsy and Margie got me Pandora charms. I will share pics later.
(Ely could not make it as she is going through some treatments...I missed her).
Nothing like celebrating your birthday with good friends.
Tomorrow is my actual birthday.....LOL.
Have a great day,
ME

A couple of layouts and flowers....of course.

Worked on some layouts....to tell you the truth, I have been scrapbooking quite a bit and as of today I have scrapbooked 41 pages in the last 15 days. I have no idea what is an original anymore and what is a scraplift....has that ever happened to you? I am pretty sure the following were scraplifts...
I made my own flower...why do you ask? Because out of all the million and a half of flowers that I own, I could not get one that matched to my liking. So get some canvas, scissors, glitter mist...My favorite friend right now...and a white acrylic dabber and huala...this is my creation.

Pretty darn good if I say so myself. LOL...
My sister Margie, gave me one of the most meaningful gifts two Christmas' ago. She made copies of some very old pictures of the family and gifted each sister a set. It meant the world to me. So here are some of those pictures. This is my mom, a good 30 years ago.
The vine that you see here, is one that I glitter misted...I know you are shocked. It was peachy and pink before I got my hands on it. LOL. Anyway, you know those are ALL PRIMA Flowers and the big old brads are from BAZZILL...yes, girls, they do other things besides paper. I also used glitter mist on my ribbon from Prima. (I have got to show you all these delicious Prima Ribbon....DELISH!!!!)
OK..got's to go.
Have a fantastic day.
Hugs,
Me

I FORGOT MY FLIP CAMERA!!! SERA POSIBLE?

Ok...first of all let me tell you that I have taken quite a bit of classes from many a teacher. The truth is I have my favorites. (I believe everyone does) With that being said, I have to tell you, if you ever get a chance to take a class with Ms. Donna Downey, artist extraordinaire...do yourself a favor, and sign up immediately. She is a fantastic teacher. Honestly. No kidding. I had the best time with my buddies, and I learned a ton of stuff.

I am a scrapbooker. I love the feel of accomplishment I get when I finish a 12x12 page and see the end results in a big fat book. Yet the truth is that I love to learn....and then teach. I am open to learn anything...as long as it's LEGAL in the U.S.A. So although my first love is Scrapbooking I love to learn something new. That happened to me. I learned NOT SOMETHING new, but a ton of stuff. What an amazing feeling to learn something, make it your own, and then pass it on. I learned something, and created my own. The fabulous Donna Downey, taught us so many wonderful little tricks. I learned to paint with watercolors...who knew my kindergarten teacher would come back in my sweet memories of yesteryear's. LOL We sprayed water on canvas, got messy, used inks and distressed all over the place, ironed, laughed like kindergartners, learned some more and got our own creative juices flowing in the process. Boy was this class really, really fun.
Here is Vane, Me, Ady, Fabulous Donna Downey, and Esther.

Look at my pretty book. I decided right there and then that this book was going to be my birthday book for 2010. (You all know, I celebrate the whole month...LOL). I decided to paint my little flowers on the cover and I used water color paints...took me forever so I suggested glimmer mist to my buddies and huala...quick instant gratification on theirs. Check out their blogs for their take on this project...too darn cute.
Here I am with my fabulous teacher...he,hee,hee.
Now I have got to tell you about this.....many people were asking our FABULOUS teacher to sign the Prima packaging we had our goodies come in...great idea...but it did not go with my vision of my book...so I got white cardstock and ask FABULOSA DONNA DOWNEY to sign my card stock...with the request that it had to be 6x 6.5 so it could fit my beautiful birthday book....She not only signed it, but look what she did for me...she painted this beautiful heart for me.....NOW IS SHE COOL OR WHAT? I have never had a teacher do that for me...isn't that sweet? (Although I did sit on Tim Holtz legs....DON't ASk!!! I wanted to die of mortification!!!) I was truly impressed with Ms. Donna. I loved that we learned so many things, had fun in the process...and it didn't hurt that I got this beautiful painting...I don't have the heart to cut it up, so my buddy Ady, came up with the brilliant idea of scanning it and then placing it in my book...promise to share the finished product.
It's not that often that I am highly impressed with teachers. I expressed this weekend that you have many teachers out there, but not all are effective teachers. How many times have you taken a project home and not only did you leave with an unfinished project but had no desire to finish it either.
An effective teacher gets their message across and inspires her students to continue to create. This weekend we got a teacher that not only made the class stupendously fun, taught us a ton of techniques, got her vision across and also inspired us to continue to create and go beyond our own creative comfort zone. We payed for a class. We got an excellent teacher.
Donna Downey is in my FANTASTIC TEACHER HALL OF FAME club.
Ady, thank you for my birthday gift. It was the best EVER! Love you girl!

Me

Holy Toledo it is Wednesday!!!

Hello my friends. I can not even think straight right now. I have been so busy. Taking care of mom (had surgery last Friday) and taking care of two households. Thank GOD for sisters and a great brother who are all taking shifts and handling the load. Mom is doing good and on the road to recovery. She is such a trooper. When I grow up I want to be just like my mom. She is truly fabulous.

I have a ton of stuff going on. Retreat 2010, February crop....Will post pics on this tomorrow...February Kit/and March kit are looking good. Vane, YES, Jenni Bowlin is coming home...LOL. I will post more on these soon.

Ok, the month of February and it is officially my birthday month....WHOO HOOO! Let the celebrations begin. I can't wait. I have so much fun. We scrap...talk, eat, scrap...eat....laugh, eat, scrap...why do we always have food in the middle of some serious scrapbooking? Can someone please explain that to me?

Anyways, I am looking forward to the classes I will be teaching this month as I have 2 new projects.

And just because a post is not a post without pictures...check this out......
This beauty was created by Tracy Hudson. Look at all those delish...Flowers of course...LOL

Hope you all have a happy day.
