Hello pueblo....GET READY....LONG POST....

I know, I know. It's super hard to keep this blog going on a daily basis, when I am preparing for so many wonderful events. I think i am going to have to create the post and simply pre-date them...hmm..that's a thought.

I am proud to announce that: We are a SCRAPPINK event holder!!!! WHOO HOOO! For those of you who are not aware of what SCRAPPINK is: It's a scrapbooking event that is Nationally celebrated all over the world. Scrapbooks Etc. is the official organizer. Local Scrapbook Stores and Kit Club vendors host these crops and collect monies for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The wonderful thing about this event is THAT ALL MONIES COLLECTED goes directly to the foundation. GOT TO LOVE THAT!!!!

I am honored that SDUI will be able to participate in such a special event. It really humbles me to see the response that many of you have given me, and your willingness to participate in such a wonderful event. I have sent out emails and just want to let you know, that this event is going to be the largest one I hold this year. Not necessarily in attendants but by my gifting to the Scrap Pink Participants and the collections of monies for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

I will be hosting this crop on September 26 - 27, 2008. Seating is limited so make sure you reserve your seats by emailing me immediately @ scrapbookdui@aol.com
I have a full event scheduled for the participants and will be gifting FABULOUS gifts and prizes. Already have some of these Delicious goodies on hand and my anticipation level is out of control.
The following is from the Susan G. Komen Foundation website...(I simply copied as they express it so eloquently)
About Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the US and is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women age 40-59. It is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death among women.
Breast cancer accounts for one of every three cancer diagnoses in women. Nearly 200,000 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year and about 40,000 women will die from breast cancer this year. An additional 60,000 new cases of in situ breast cancer are expected to occur in women this year.
There are over two million breast cancer survivors alive today in the U.S. and the number of deaths due to breast cancer seems to be declining. A combination of earlier detection and more effective treatment is thought to be responsible for these declining rates.
ABOUT SUSAN G. KOMEN
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.
In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. With the goal of winning this fight, Komen has committed to invest another $2 billion dollars over the next decade with the goal of achieving its ultimate vision of a world without breast cancer. For more information, please visit Komen.org
I have chosen to participate in this event at it is truly an amazing cause and will help us or someone we know at some point in time in our lives.
Let's work together and combine our passion of scrap booking with helping eradicate this horrible disease.
Thanking you all in advance for your support.
Lots of hugs.........
Damaris
